Hi

As a new user of FP 2000 - I have a really dumb question - but cannot
find the answer!.

The default font on a new page appears to be Times New Roman(?)
Via TOOLS/ Page Options - Default Font - I have set this to Verdana.

But, whenever I insert a new page - it still reverts to TNR font.

Continually having to highlight and then change the font is getting to
be frustrating and hard work - there has got to be an easier way?

Thank you.
Regards,
Stone

When you set the default font in FP, it only applies to the font you see
when designing your page in FP, not when a user see your page in a browser.
You must assign fonts directly to your text via the font menu or via CSS.

One wonders why they even put the default font option in, it doesn't do what the average user would assume it does.

I totally agree.

The default font option in FrontPage works just the same
as the default font option in the browser.

Right
- it really should be named Browser Default Font in FP

Hi
Many thanks to everyone who responded.
I am quite pleased (?) that the answer was not so simple or obvious!
Looks like my learning curve just got a little steeper - CSS indeed.

Cheers,
Stone

Right
- it really should be named Browser Default Font in FP

A similar issue to page background colors which are labeled
as "Automatic" when they really mean "Users's browser default".

Basic CSS isn't all that hard to figure out and it can save you allot of work once you start using it.

Yep. When you get good at it, you can use it to reproduce the same
font sizes that you had in HTML and get relative consistency across
browsers.
