Please be gentle, i am new to the world of the newsgroup.
But the article i read just now confirms i'm in the right place. So, here's
what i'm thinking. I'd like to poke around under the hood of the new Win
Vista beta; i understand it's getting late enough in the game for a few
non-propeller heads such as myself to take the plunge?
The basics i know: I must first backup all my data and system files. For
that i have my DVD + CD/RW drive for storage. Next, i'll need to repartition
my hd (in NTFS?) to accomodate both of Win XP Pro, and the Vista beta. From
there, i need the "...for Dummies" edition, please.
Here are some of the necessary specs from that System Properties doohicky:
Dell Inspiron 600M
Intel Pentium M 1.6 GHz - 1 GB RAM
MS Win XP Pro - v 2002 SP2
Additionally, i have System Restore set to the maximum disk space usage;
and both of my Remote Assistance and Desktop are enabled.
