Where or should I say how does one obtain a new xp cd if
the one you owe is damaged beyond repair.

And how many times can you "activate xp" before your code
is no longer valid?

TIA
Jonnymac

I know of no other way than to buy another copy. Next time store it in a safe place
That copy you can activate as many times as you want to. You'll just have to call it in after the first time
I recently replaced a motherboard and hard driveon my machine and had to call it in.
They asked me if I was activating this copy on a different machine and I told them what I had just done and no more questions were asked
Very good service.

you can call your computer manufactor and request a copy cd for around ten to fifteen dollars

Greetings --

If it was a retail license and you have proof of purchase:

If it was an OEM license, you should contact whomever sold you the
PC.

There's no limit to the number of times you can reinstall and
activate the same WinXP license on the same PC. If it's been more
than 120 days since you last activated that specific Product Key,
you'll most likely be able to activate via the Internet without
problem. If it's been less, you might have to make a 5 minute phone
call.
