Mary

I have never used this newsgroup before, and don't even
know how to properly redieve your reply. I got this
computer about 6 months ago and had so many problems,
mainly with the display settings not staying as set,
Microsoft sent me a new package. I had it installed by
someone who i paid.
Since then, the only program i have is microsoft works,
but i lost the spellcheck on outlook express. I have
Progressive Multiple Sclerosis, have severe vision
problems and to lose this part of the program has been a
disaster. I have written microsoft a number of times and
have not gotten any answers. The new program did not fix
the problems i had. I find many ooperations not working
when i check the task manager. My photo programs are all
messed up. I bought this so i could take pictures of my
artwork and to try to help my family with serious
financial problems since i had to stop work. I have spent
more money on trying to fix this than i did on the
computer. Any ideas would be deeply appreciated. Just the
spellcheck, as that was the biggest problem sincwe the new
program installation and not one i expected. Thank you
very much. Mary

I'll assume you have configured the 'Options' settings
correctly (and assume you are using Outlook Express).
According to the help file, when typing a new message,
click spelling on the Tools Menu.
If that's not the answer you're after, this is a bit
more in depth, but pretty straight forward.

good luck

mary, your best bet (if you cannot do this yourself) is
to have the laptop wiped clean and have windows w/ all of
your other programs reinstalled. make sure that you back
up all of your necessary data (you said you had pictures)
to a cd or other media.

or, if you feel comfortable enough, you could do it
yourself, and save the money.

either way, i think this would be the best way to solve
your myriad of problems, rather than trying to hammer
them out one at a time, as youve already had quite a bit
of trouble with it.

best of luck to you.
