New users created and being replicated issues...

Have 2 Win2K DC's in one site and 2 Win2K DC's in second
site which is about 1000 miles away.

Create a new user on one DC in one site and it gets
replicated to the second DC in the same site almost
instantaneously...

It takes almost 2 hours for the replication to occur to
the 2 other DC's in the second site...

I was under the impression that certain new entries like
Users, Computer accounts etc. generate a replication
right away and does not wait the default 180 minutes for
the next replication cycle.

Am I correct? Is there some settign that needs to be fine
tuned?

All DCs are set up to be GCs

thanks for any help

Carlos,

No, this is not correct. What you are experiencing it *typical*. if you
wanted to change this behavior then you would need to do one of two things:
change the default settings for Intersite Replication or to manually
initiate the replication. For this you might want to install the Support
Tools on all of your WIN2000 Controllers.

Nope, in terms of replication of new objects, nothing bypasses the site link
rules. There are some special things that do bypass those rules but they are all
centered around password changes of existing users.

You have a couple of options:

1. Force a replication on bridgehead DC in the remote sites when you need to
pull something right away.

2. Trim down your replication window to as low as 15 minutes or enable change
notification to the sites.

3. Collapse your site structure to a single site. if you have great
connectivity, then this last option is a good one.
