After the latest update that I installed yesterday (about 5-6 updates) and
after restart of computer, now I am getting error in window explorer.
Rebooting PC brings up the same error. I can not system restore because I can
not get to start menu. Please help.

Just a little info on KB908531, if your IQ is higher than room tempature
just uninstall it.

This is from M/S website.

Firewall best practices and standard default firewall configurations can
help protect networks from attacks that originate outside the enterprise
perimeter. Best practices recommend that systems that are connected to the
Internet have a minimal number of ports exposed.

In a Web-based attack scenario, an attacker would have to host a Web site
that contains a Web page that is used to exploit this vulnerability. An
attacker would have no way to force users to visit a malicious Web site.
Instead, an attacker would have to persuade them to visit the Web site,
typically by getting them to click a link that takes them to the attacker's
Web site. After they click the link, they would be prompted to perform
several actions. An attack could only occur after they performed these
actions.

The vulnerability could not be exploited automatically through e-mail. For
an attack to be successful a user must open an attachment or click on a link
that is sent in an e-mail message.

Mike: If you read the OP's post you will see that they cannot get to the Start menu. Therefore
they can uninstall, regardless of their IQ. You might better provide help, rather than mean
comments.

To Alexasha: Can you get the computer to start in the SAFE MODE? Keep tapping the F8 key as your
computer is booting.
In the Safe Mode, you can use system restore to go back to before the update.

I have not try it yet. YOu are absolutely correct, I do not have start
button, only iconless screen. I will be trying safe mode this afternoon,
unless there are any other suggestions.

Well, safe mode still had a windows explorer error, but allowed by to do
system restore, that so far fixed the problems. Thanks.
