Howdy

Got a network where ruinning XP clients and 2000 server
Replacing server with 2003 SBS
Keeping alll settings same, domain name, ip, etc etc

Prob: XP clients will loose all settings due to joining in effect a new domain

How do you stop this from happening, or if you cannot, how do you easily retrieve all user settings, icons, printers, etc etc back to how they were

Could it be as simple as joining new domain wiith same name (after taking old one offline), and copying profile directory
What issue does this have with SID's...

Copying the profile is one way to do it. You might try using the File and
Setting Transfer Wizard or the USMT command line tool, that migrates a lot
more.
