Hi

I have just installed open office and some other software on a friends
computer which runs Windows XP. I had to do this as admin user or something.

When I logged in as another user the programs were not listed on the
start menu for that user, is there a way to add a shortcut
automatically so everyone has access to this program. or do i have to
install for every user, a bit pathetic as under Linux / KDE I get a
icon on the desktop for each user, then I click this to run a small set
up script which copies some files in to the user home directory so each
user can run the software. Much easier. Also means different users can
I think have slightly different settings for the program.

I tried to use the help and support center, but it's a waste of time,

As there is Zero documentation, can someone please tell me in very
simple terms how to do this. I got round it by going to the c: and
then going to program files/open office directory and then making a
shortcut on the desktop, (rather complex). I had to wade through a few
screens warning me of the dangers of this directory. (proof how lame
windows is really).

Why is Windows XP so hard to use compared to Linux and KDE, ?

Thanks

Paul Sutton.
