new problem

I notice that lately I have to try a task twice before it works. It
does not matter whether its a newsreader, email or the internet. I'd
appreciate any ideas on what could be causing this. Thanks

What is the virus/malware status of the computer? If you think it is
clean, what programs - with versions - did you use to determine this?

And your antivirus? What are you using, its version, subscription
active, etc.?

recommend something better that is stable, bug-free, etc?

Try Avast!, free, at www.avast.com Uninstall AVG first.

I run Spybot and Adaware Upgrade.

I also run Spy Sweeper ($$$,but worth it), and AVAST as well
as AVG 7.0 free.

I RARELY get viruses.

This happens to me when an app loads more slowly than I
like.
I recommend that BEFORE you start an app the 2nd time, open
your Task Manager (ctl alt del) to be sure it's not already
running s-l-o-w-l-y.

If you start the same program TWICE, you are ASKING for
trouble.

In the long run, some apps take awhile to load.

computer technology.
