New problem... don't know how to describe

Hi all..
I have a pretty big problem that I don't know how to tackle....
I have recently formated my comp and installed winXP prof. I will
describe the process here:

Yanked the internet connection (to avoid being hacked with an unpatched
system) and then installed Sp1 (offline edition?). Now that was
installed. I now installed f-secure client security (antivirus +
firewall). After a number of restarts I plug in the connection again and
downloaded all the other pathces. Now everything is pathced and ready.
On the comp: Win fully patched and fsecure client security.

Now here is the problem:
I start my computer. It looks normal. I see my desktop. But I can't
click the startmenu. It only shows the hourglass. Then I put up the
taskmanager (that appears after 40sec) nothing is eating cpu. But all
the fseucre processes aren't there exept the firewall one. Alright.. one
minute after the appearence of the desktop the fsecure processes start
to appear but the startmenu is still occupied by the ourglass. 1.5min
later I can open the startmenu. There is still a problem left. The
fsecure icon is not in the taskbar. Also the soundicon isn't there. Even
if I have checked it in the controlpanel. But I know that fsecure is
active after having the firewall probed at pcflank.com. This is a very
big problem for me... Can someone help me?

If you've reinstalled Windows you may need to install drivers for the
motherboard. If you know which motherboard you have go to the web site of the
company that makes it and look for XP drivers. If the motherboard has a built
in sound card the company should also have drivers for that.
 
Contact the suppliers of f-secure or locate NGs for f-secure and ask you
questions there as this is an XP specific site. {:~)
