New Power Supply won't boot up

I installed a new power supply in a system. After three tries the system finally booted up and everything was ok. I stayed on the computer for a couple of hours and then shut down.
When I booted up this morning, the cpu powered up but the monitor is just displaying three colored bars - acting like it is not receivng anything from the computer. Can anyone help me out??
 
a few ideas:
1. faulty power supply
2. wrong specs
3. insufficient power (wattage)
4. some other component injured during power supply swappout

Be sure the power cord is fully seated in the Hard drive, and check all the
ribbon cables too.
Sometimes one of the wire connectors can back out of the power cable just
enough not to make a good connection. Be sure they all go all the way in.

My first guess is loose connections within the box. Open it up,
check every connection for proper seat.

It is very easy to bump the video card and loosen it when you are inside the
computer. Also, whenever you replace something like a PSU, things CAN fail
when you power everything back up. One other thing to check is that if you
have a very recent model of video card, some require that a 12v plug be
plugged into them. (the molex plug like the one to the HDDs and CDRs).
