New PC with old XP ?

I'm planning on building a new PC for a friend using a new main
board,processor,hard drive & memory. Using graphics card,cd-rw,floppy drive
out of old one and bining the rest.
My question is i'm planning on using the XP pro operating system he's
already got on the new machine, will i be able to activate it as it's
already been activated on his old P/C ?
Any suggestions greatfully recieved.

If it isn't OEM then it can be moved. At worst, you might have to activate
via phone rather than over the net.
If it is OEM Then it cannot.
