We installed a new pc yesterday and we cannot see our network from it. Now we
can see this pc from other pc's on the network. Our Computer services
department says that we have no domain and just plugging the pc into the
network is all that needs to happen in order to see other machines and
servers....is there anything on this XP machine that we need to setup or
enable that our Computer department isn't knowledgeable about?

can you ping remote computer by ip? If yes, can you ping it by name? this step b ystep troubleshooting may help, http://www.howtonetworking.com/Troubleshooting/notaccessibale0.htm

Don't send e-mail or reply to me except you need consulting services. Posting on MS newsgroup will benefit all readers and you may get more help.

I recommend Brinkster for web hosting!
