I just installed MSOFFICEPRO 2003.

It transferred my CONTACTS AND CALENDAR but didn't pick up my old mail.

I have an unusual situation as I'm getting mail from the LOS ANGELES FREE
NET but outgoing is SBC global. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

So, you were coming from OL97, correct? If so, how many PST files do you
have on your system?

VINCE: The problem is sovled. 1) I got on the phone with SBC (who is my
internet provider) and we fixed all the OUTGOING and INCOMING SERVER
SETTINGS; and 2) I imported emails/addresses, etc. from OUTLOOK EXPRESS and
everthing appears to have transferred properly. I will double-check and then
delete OUTLOOK EXPRESS completely.

Thanks....NORM

Importing email from OE will have altered all email modified dates to the
import date, may be important to you.
Whilst exporting mail OE to OL will not
Dont try to delete OE, either delete accounts or set OE not to check for
mail, if inadvertantly started.
OL and win use certain OE files/dll's not least the OE Newsreader as OL has
no newsreader capability
Though I see you are using the web newsreader, currently.

Thanks DL, but I don't understand why I Need to keep a program I'll never
use. I will have deleted all the MESSAGES, CONTACTS, ADDRESS BOOK etc since
it is all transferred and I don't use newsgroups, etc through OE. Ideas?
Thank you.

If you delete Outlook Express, Outlook won't work because it uses some of
OE's DLLs.
