New network slowing dowing startup?

Hi there,

I've got an HP laptop with a 54g card that had been accessing my
wireless router fine, with quick startups. Now, my desktop has a 54g
card, and I've create a workgroup sot that I can file share. I can
see both comps, and that's all fine.

However, something has added 2-3 minutes to my startup time on the
laptop, and I'm not sure how to check to find out what is going on.
It gets to the desktop and sits there thinking, and finally adds all
the icons and tray icons.

I run ZoneAlarm, Norton Anti-Virus. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Just an idea, but it might be that your AV tries to update itself as
soon as it loads. There might be a setting to disable this automatic
upload so instead it updates once a day.

Good luck
