New Nero Update

hey bob!
i don't know about you, but my nero update is taking for-freaking-ever!
it's been downloading since around 11 this morning and is STILL only at 67%
downloaded...i've got a 10meg. connection so i KNOW that's not the
problem...any ideas?

Erm, there are two connections involved: yours and Nero's. Obviously,
since the update just came out, the server at Nero is overloaded.
Patience is a virtue and all that jazz.

Nero is buggy.Since installing update windows keeps closing Nero Home.
Running Nero 7.8.5.0 on Vista Ultimate 64

I ran the updater from Nero 7 and after downloading and installing it rolled
back to the 7.7.5.1 version and gave me an .msi error! I'm now downloading
the full program instead of letting Nero do it's update thing again. Only
took about 10 minutes on my 3MB cable connection. The full program is
downloading at 346 KB/s and I'll install from my hard drive and see how it
goes. The weird thing is the file on the update page is just the help
file...had to fish around to find the "off line" update for it.

Have installed version 7.8.5.0 absolutely no problems, however I did
uninstall v7.7 as advised on Nero website.

I was able to update over the older version...saved having to type in the
serial number anyway. Seems to work fine after the update installed. I guess
they have some work to do on their in place upgrade from within Nero setup.

TKS Stuart! clean install worked fine no problems now, guess Nero update
installer has problems.

Will InCD work on Vista 64? How about LightScribe? I'm about to go
buy Roxio but if the new Nero will work I'd prefer it as I'm used to
it.
 
Full version download (411 Mb) just finished for me -- total time about 9
hours. MD5 checksum is good.

I noticed that also, maybe it was buggy. People with 64 bit systems didn't
have it in the 7.7.5.1 version.
