This may seem trivial but its driving me nuts. When typing a new message, I
often hit the send button when I meant to hit the attach icon, to the right
of the send icon. I want to move the paperclip icon to a different place but
its not part of a toolbar so i cant rearrange it. Can anyone help?
Thanks.

You fail to mention your Outlook version. On my Outlook (2003), I can
right-click on the toolbar, Customize, tab Commands, Rearrange Commands,
click and select the Standard toolbar, then customize it appropriately.

Not sure what you mean by "paperclip is not part of a toolbar".

Im using 2002. The paperclip Icon is not part of a toolbar so I cant right
click anywhere. I know how to rearrange icons on various toolbars, but I
cant find that paperclip icon on any of the toolbars.

Sure it is. It's on the Standard toolbar. You yourself claimed that it was
when you said "I
often hit the send button when I meant to hit the attach icon, to the right
of the send icon." Since Send is on the Standard toolbar and the "Inset
File" icon (the paper clip) is just to its right, in your own words, then
it, too, is on the Standard toolbar. So, customize your toolbar to move it
to where you want it. Right-click an empty area of the toolbar and choose
Customize. Now, click that "Attach" button you mentioned and drag it to
where you'd like it to be on the toolbar. Alternatively, select "Insert" in
the left pane, click on "File" (you'll notice the paper clip icon to its
left), and drag it to where you'd like it on the toolbar. This will add
another Insert File button to the toolbar in addition to the one you have.

Thank you Brian.
