OK I got a brand new Prescott P4 3.6Ghz, and an ASUS
P5P800 mobo, a Radeon 9800pro (waiting for my x800 xt to
show up), and a Western Digital WD800 SATA drive, with
1GB of OCZ Platinum memory. Now I go in with my XP disc,
and I'm able to format, and get halfway into
installation, but with exactly 35 minutes left of
the "installing devices" step the computer just dies, the
keyboard stops responding, and the monitor shuts off.
I've swapped RAM, tried disabling a bunch of stuff in the
BIOS, but unfortunately I don't even know what half the
stuff is. I'm sure my physicaly installation of the RAM,
CPU, and HD are correct or it wouldn't let me get as far
as I do in teh installation. Someone please help as this
is a terrbily depressing situation as I've been super
excited about building this new machine up, thanks.

In addition to the Microsoft information:

If you have 2 x 512Mb memory modules; try removing the second module and
install Windows. If this fails replace the first module with the second.
Try installing Windows again.

Often one module can be faulty and cause installation to fail way down the
track.
