Did you allow automatic updates to install Internet Explorer 7? To get the
menu bar to display tap the Alt key. Then from Help | About Internet
Explorer what is the version? If it's version 7 you could revert to version
6 by removing version 7 from Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs. But if
IE7 runs ok on your system I would recommend you leave it. IE7 is a good
upgrade over IE6 particularly in terms of security.

To permanently display the menu bar click on Tools at the right side of the
window near the top, then click on Menu Bar.

Just right click on the menu bar and check Menu Bar in the menu that will
appear.

You don't. The new MS Office is like this, too. It's the new UI design
approach from Microsoft. If you don't like it, there's always other
operating systems to switch to that let you have a bit more control over
visual elements and go for $90-100+ less than Windows.

He doesn't?? Clicking on tools > Menu Bar will bring back the items he's
looking for.
