On a brand new machine with a fresh copy of xp pro it seems I am getting in
C:\Documents & Settings\User Name\Local Settings & also in C:\Windows\Temp

Cookies, History & Temporary Internet Files
I can delete the one in Windows but seem after awhile it appears again. Is
there a fix? it does this on my old one also my firend has a brand new dell
& also does it. Is this a BUG???

thanks

You cannot delete the temp or history files. They are needed by the OS.
You can delete their contents but if you delete the file intself then
windows will recreate it. Instead do some registry tweaks and stop the
recording of history, run commands, URLs etc. Good luck.

Had a similar problem. I tried this & it seemed to work.
Use Internet Options>Temporary Internet Files>Delete Files.
Say yes to delete offline content. Say yes to delete cookies.
luck...marvo

No, this is by design. These directories are used by Internet Explorer to
cache information when you browse the Internet. These directories are not
something to worry about.

See my post above on this subject. My problem was that my computer crashed &
probably was unable to clear the other directories (folders). What I did
worked for
XP. Same thing happened on my other computer running W95. Did not work
there.
I just leave them there....marvo

What you have in the Windows\Temp folder are further folders that may
contain a single, small file. The actual files that are created, with use,
are stored in C:\Documents...etc no further files are added to Win\Temp
folders, unless you have an app that is hard coded to use this temp folder.
Why these folders are created in win\Temp I havent discovered!
