New Icons

I just upgraded to Vista and now everytime I write a letter using WORD 2007
I get an icon on my Vista screen. If I delete the icon I find that I've
deleted the letter. I don't need anymore icons. What am I doing different?
Thanks. (I hope this doesn't show up red with eyeglasses. That's another
problem.)
 
Perhaps you should quit saving documents to the desktop and start
saving them to the Documents folder.
 
I didn't change anything so I did not realize I was doing that now. I'll
see what I can do. Thanks.

That's another problem.)

You're welcome. You may have to use "Save As" (instead of
Save) at least once to train Word to start using the new folder.
