New HD, XP Upgrade version

In brief, what I'd like to do is add a new 120 GB HD, make
that my C: drive, install XP Pro to it, and delete Windows
ME from the old C: drive (which will become D:)

Questions:
1. Is this something I can do in a single pass or do I
have to install to the existing C: drive, add the new HD,
image (e.g. Drive Image) C: to the new drive and reformat
the old drive as D:?

2. This is an XP Pro Upgrade version. If I wanted to load
it directly to the new drive rather than image it do I
have to first load a minimal Win ME to the new drive,
then replace it with XP Pro?

A lot of people must be doing something similar these days
as HD prices drop. However, I've not seen this
configuration issue referred to at all (e.g. Langa List,
winsupersite.com, etc.)

Install the new drive as C, move the old to D. Boot from the cd and you can
partition and format your new hard drive from there. During the XP install
you will be asked to insert the win me cd to verify that the upgrade is
valid.
