I installed a new HD with XP Pro!! I also have another HD
with another Copy of XP Pro on it, Can I ,from the same
computer, copy the files from the Old HD to the new HD.
Can it be done? and how much of a problem would it be to
do so? thanks in advance

No problem at all, just install the copy as a slave. Make sure your bios
sees it and copy away.

If you switch the jumpers on the second (old) drive to make it a slave -
usually removing the jumper - and plug it in on the middle plug of the
IDE cable, with the main HD, then it will become available in XP as just
another drive letter in My Computer. You will probably be told new
hardware has been installed and asked to reboot.

You can then copy across data files. Programs though need installing,
and you should do that by running whatever installation source you had
before.

You can then format the old drive and keep it around as a second data
drive - use it for backups if nothing else
