After installing my Lexmark 1100 printer, I am getting a Found New Hardware
Wizard screen telling me that it cannot install the new hardware because it
can not find a file. When I click finish (only option) it closes but pop
back up again. The printer/scanner works fine but I can't keep this blasted
window from popping up. any help is appreciated.

I have said printer, I don't use it on XP at the moment but have downloaded
a driver file from 'Lexmark' for it to run on XP.

Anyway, I don't know what driver that you are trying to use at present, but
thiere is an XP driver for the 1100, though it is a 'uni-driver' (basic
functions).

Have a look at
http://www.lexmark.com

This link ought to take you to driver download page;

By the way, what was the file the error says it can't find ?

I am having the same problem with a Dell A920 printer. Did you ever get it resolved?

I am having the same problem with a Dell A920 printer. Did you ever get it resolved? The file it is looking for is dibkusd.dll, I can see dibkusd.dl_ on the Dell installation CD

At Kelly's site, linked below, click on "P" and scroll to the printer
area. Something like this may give a clue...
"Printer - Always Found after Reboot"
