I've bought a new hard drive for SATA, and am getting a new motherboard soon,
will WXP deactivate my license to use it? Same comp, just changing out the
hardware. Thanks guys

You will have to reactivate your copy of XP, but that isn't a problem.
Either activate online or, if you get a problem, use the toll free
telephone number.
Again this shouldn't be a problem.

Normally, and assuming a retail license (many factory-installed OEM
installations are BIOS-locked to a specific chipset and therefore not
transferable to a new motherboard - check yours before starting),
there's no limit to the number of times you can reinstall and activate
the same WinXP license on the same PC. Nor is there ever a charge. Nor
does a Product Key (so long as it's not an evaluation license) ever
expire. If it's been more than 120 days since you last activated that
specific Product Key, you'll most likely be able to activate via the
Internet without problem. If it's been less, you might have to make a 5
minute phone call.

Here are the facts pertaining to activation:

It comes up when you select "Activate by Phone" option, during the activation.
