I am going to be installing a new hard drive in my computer. What do I need
to do? I cannot find my xp disc, will this be a problem? Will the transfer
files and settings wizard take care of this task? Someone please reply and
let me know everything I need to do to do this properly. Thanks.

Will this new drive be augmenting your current setup (ie, a D: drive that
doesn't contain the operating system) or will you be replacing the drive
that contains your operating system files (ie, Windows directory or "Boot
Partition")?

The Files and Settings Transfer Wizard only transfers
"files and settings". It does not transfer the Windows XP
operating system or any programs.

You may wish to visit the support website of the manufacturer of your
new hard drive and see if they have a free utility program that you can use to
accomplish this task. For example, if you have a new Western Digital drive,
you can download their free Data Lifeguard Tools which includes "drive-to-drive
copy capability" (Ref: http://support.wdc.com/download/).

Or you can purchase Norton Ghost and create an "image"
of your old hard drive:
