New folders are "read only"

Wilbs

Every folder I create is "Read Only" and I can not remove
the attrib. Under properties there is no security tab so
I can not change permissions.

Any thoughts?

Are you the admin?
 
Why do you think the folders are read-only?
NTFS filesystem permissions can always be manipulated
in a F8 safe mode boot.
What looks like a Read-only checkbox in the properties
of folders in the UI is only a switch used to set/unset the
read-only property on file contained in the folder/

I have noticed the same behavior in XP and I also noticed
that YOU SUCK.

I could go on, but hey, YOU SUCK.
 
I have similar problem...
The security tab will reapper if you disable the simple
file sharing...
But otherwise no ideas.
If you receive a good solution, please let me know!
