new folder

Hello,
I recieved an email that said that you cannot make a new
folder name con I tried to do it to see for myself and
after I named it, the name automatically went back to New
Folder. Does anyone have an explanation for this?

"Con," an abbreviation for "console," has been a reserved word
since the early day of DOS. You can't use these words as file
names: "aux," "clock$," "com1," "com2," "com3," "com4," "con,"
"lpt1," "lpt2," "lpt3," "nul," and "prn."
