new email isn't displayed on open

How do you set Outlook 2002 to display new email messages
when you first open Outlook or go into INbox? I have to
open Outlook - open inbox - hit send receive - to get new
emails.

I see settings to send/receive messages every 1 minute
and checked box to send/receive when exiting but nothing
for auto check on open? Please help.
 
Setting an automatic polling interval will force a poll on launch if your
SRS group is set up correctly.

Setting your automatic send/receive setting to one minute is *far* too
low. Consider changing it to check every 15 minutes and see if that
fixes your problem.
