You want to move just XP Home from your existing drive to the new one? This
isnt possible. You would need to reinstall XP to the new drive.

You can however use Symantec Ghost to copy everything from your existing
drive to the larger one. Ghost will clone your hard drive and expand the
partition to use the maximum space. You can then format your old hard drive
and use it for extra space.

Hope this helps,

The manufacturer of your new drive most likely provides a FREE utility to
clone old drive to new drive.
Check their web site.

Do you have Partition Magic or not?

If you do have Partition Magic {see Start, All Programs} and it is version
8, then open Partition Magic. Go to Help and click on Contents. Select the
Index tab. Enter Copy in the text box. Read and follow the directions for
copying a partition.

would partion magic 7.0
work for this application
following the same directions
and if so
the drive set up is as follows
main drive is new one with windows working for the most part
and old drive would be set up as slave still with old partion intact
also my sys restore is not working at this time

PM8 is the only version which is 100% XP compatible. PM is *NOT* an imaging
application - I use Drive Image 7 for imaging and have never had a problem.

What problems are you having with the utility? Have you tried contacting the
manufacturer for support?

Using norton ghost you can create a bootable CD-ROM. This should solve your
problem.

Partition Magic 7 is not fully compatible with Windows XP.
The copy feature in Partition Magic is taken from Drive Image.
However, the copy utility would work at the Caldera DOS level used by
PowerQuest for Partition Magic. So Windows XP compatibility may not be an
issue.
Suggest you try it. It the copy does not work it does not work. The copy
process does not destroy the data on the source drive.
Use the Partition Magic Rescue floppies or the CD {it bootable- I do not
know} to boot to Caldera DOS and following the directions in Partition Magic
7 Help. {BTW Caldera DOS is a not Microsoft version of DOS}
