New Dell Network Card not working

I think my network card is not working properly. I just got my computer and
hooked everything up and when i tried to network it to another computer it
keeps telling me my cable is not connected. The cable worked about a week or
two ago and we even tried another cable without any improvement.

If you are connecting to another computer directly,
instead of using a hub / switch / router, then you need
to use a special crossover cable.

A regular cable will not work, and you will get the error you see.

Either get a crossover cable, or use a hub, switch or router
in between the machines.
