New Delete Prompt?

I just got a prompt in Outlook 2002 that I've never seen before. "When deleting items, Outlook normally does the following:... (then lists some tasks). Do you want these things done when these items are deleted? This will take more time."

I have no idea what ramifications this entails. Will they be done automatically? For example, when deleting an appointment, will cancellations be sent without asking me?

Any other information on this prompt, and why it should appear now?

Thanks!

This will happen when you delete a calendar item that had a meeting
invitation, or an assigned task, etc. If you want to delete it, you have the
choice to send notifications or not.

This isn't the same prompt - deleting a calendar item gives a "Confirm Delete" prompt, with 2 choices: Delete and send a response, or delete without sending. There is no "Outlook normally does the following... etc., etc.".

Thanks,
R.

Oh - I didn't read that as the literal text of the message. Hmmm - I have
never seen that, and I'm on the latest SP for Office/Outlook.... Any third
party add-ins ?
