I have a registered copy of access on my laptop. I
bought a new one and cannot find my disk. I have the
registration code. How do I get another copy so I can
load onto my new computer

Do you know you can't have copies on both your machines? If you bought
one copy, that means one machine at a time only.

Some software agreements allow you to move it from one to the other or
even use it on two, but not at the same time. I can't remember for sure if
MS Access allows anything other than on one machine.

If you are planning or removing it from your laptop, I believe MS allows
you to install it on your new machine. You can contact them about the disk.
Sorry I don't remember their policy for this.

You need to contact Microsoft to see about getting a replacement copy of the
install CD. If you disposed of the other PC without uninstalling
Office/Access, then shame on you. If you did uninstall Office/Access, good
for you.

The standard Microsoft license allows installation of a copy on your "fixed"
system and another on a "portable" system, for the use of a single user.
That is, when you are off using Office/Access on the portable, your
colleague back at the office isn't supposed to be using it on your desktop
machine. But you _are_ allowed to install two copies. You _may_ have to
Activate the second copy by phone.

I've reinstalled Office XP on the same notebook computer a few times and
Activation was always handled automatically across the Internet, though.
I've still got Win 98 on my desktop for compatibility testing of other
software applications, so installing Office 2002/2003 on that machine isn't
an option, anyway.
