New Computer runs very slow

Hello I have a new computer I've only had it for about a month. I got everything on it that I needed like my ISP and then one day i get up and everything is gone off my desktop like my icons for internet exployer and all but my recycle bin. So I did a system restore and now my computer runs ever so slow and I dont know what to do to fix this. I have also downloaded adware removal cause my nortons threat shows 6 adware threats but i cant get those to delete.. Help me im lost and dont want to have to completely restore my computer and start all over again.

First disable the System Restore..

If you are running win XP, go into CONTROL PANEL then
select SYSTEM. Once there, click on the System Restore
Tab, click to turn OFF System Restore and then run your up
to date anti virus program to remove any infected files,
once this has been done and infected files removed go back
into CONTROL PANEL and re-enable your System Restore.


Second Download and Run Ad-Aware...
(Before Running Ad-Aware program check for updates).
