I just bought a brand new Sony Vaio computer with flat
screen monitor and Windows XP. Nothing is clear on my
monitor. When I try to view pictures, they're terribly
pixellated. Even banner ads (as annoying as they are)
have extremely poor clarity. Is this because the monitor
is a flat screen? Or do I have to change settings on my
computer? Somebody please help me! I want to enjoy my
computer. Not throw it out the window in a fit of
anger. Thanks.

I think that will void your warranty.

Cassandra;
Right click the Desktop, click Properties.
Click Settings tab.
Change colors to High color 16 bit or higher (not 16 color or 256
color).
Adjust slider as desired, many use 800x600.
If the above are not possible, reload video driver and/or contact Sony
for details.

As it's a flat screen (and new), I'd recommend a screen resolution of
1024*768 ...
