hi all
just a quick question about networking
i want to connect 2 pc by wireless connection
they will be about 20yds between them.
i have an asus av8 wifi on one pc
and a gigabyte 7annxp on another
anyone know what ill need and roughlly the cost

If they both have a network card, just set up an AD-HOC network, you will not need to buy anything if you have the cards, if you do not now how, ask me!

just get a wirelss pci cardfor the gigabyte. then u can directly connect both computers to each other

dont ask me about signal strength cuz im vexed at mine at the minute( see my other form)

OK, you will need 1 card (£15-£50) then just create an AD-HOC network. is there any walls / floors in between them?

if not, the range should reach them, if there is, you may need a router...
 
there would be 2 walls
i would like to use one for just downloading
and games for the other
 
Sorry, but that idea is owt of the window, i tried creating an AD-HOC with 1 wall, no signal.

sorry, but you will be paying about £70 for that + £20 for the card...

Why don't you just go wired? i only use wireless because tere are 4 laptops in my family, and they all move around!
