Hello guys,

I'm new to networking, but I feel that I have done what I was supposed to
do. and my network is running fine. (Or so I believe)

My problem is this:
On my computer, I am able to access sites such as: Yahoo! and Hotmail, I am
able to log into these sites, and check e-mail.

However, on the other computer, I am able to get it to log into a site, but
after about a minute, it gives me a "Cannot display page" Error.

Could you please tell me what I have done wrong? Any information would be
greatly appreciated.

Check for an MTU setting problem first.

If that's not it, it could be a DNS issue. When the problem computer can't
access a site, is the problem seen with only that site? How about accessing the
site by IP address? Have you tried pinging by name, or by IP address?
Translate website name to IP address:

Currently, on the other computer, I just logged into my Yahoo! Account. When
I clicked the inbox link, it took a minute, then displayed a "The page cannot
be found" error."

I log in, and click the link with my computer, and it will go straight into
the inbox.

On the computer with the problem, it is able to log into Yahoo! Messenger,
and MSN fine, so I don't really understand what the problem is.

I tried switching the MTU settings, but it is hitting 1500 with 0% packet
loss. This is at Yahoo!

Should I just disconnect the network and tell her to use mine? Heheh.

Thanks you, sir.

You guys are awesome, thank you very much.
I was optimizing the TCP/IP stack on her computer, under TCP Receive Window
it was blank. Window Scaling was default, everything under it was default
until TTL which was blank, and MTU which was blank as well.

Thank you guys very much for the help. I am very happy.

Thanks for the feedback. There are a lot of very interesting network settings
to play with, constantly. It's as bad as fine tuning the engine on a race car.
Vista is supposed to be better. Keep an open mind, and an open checkbook.
