I use a wireless router, I have XP home on a laptop and XP Pro on a desktop. I can access the laptop (XP Home) from the desktop (XP Pro) but to access the Desktop (XP Pro) from the laptop (XP Home), it is asking for a user name and password. I have no idea what these are. Is there a way I can gain access to XP Pro from XP Home without having to enter a username and password
Any help would be appreciated - thanks

thank you haus
Unfortunately, I have done this to both computers, but the XP Home computer still does not talk to the XP Pro computer without requesting a log-on. Do you have any other recommendations
Thank you again
tony

Do you have user account with the same usernames and
passwords on each machine - to allow passthrough
Authentication??

It is IMPOSSIBLE to use an XP machine without a username
and password. You may have the username of Default and a
blank password and you can even set it to put them in for
you, but you have them. Right now when laptop goes to
desktop it says, "Hi, my name is DEFAULT and my password
is blank." and the Desktop replies, "Never heard of you.
Give me a name I know."

Easiest way would be to create an account on both
machines with same User and Pass and Admin rights. Make
user Tony with a blank password if you want. When one PC
talks to other PC it will say, "I am Tony and my password
is blank." and your other PC will say, "I know him, come
on in."

Right now I bet the user the desktop is using is also
listed in the laptops user list and that is why it works
one way.
