I am trying to network a notebook and desktop When I go to look at the
workgroup I get the following message:MSHOME IS NOT ACCESIBLE,YOU MIGHT NOT
HAVE PERMISSION TO USE THIS NETWORK.

I see this is a comon problem but I cant find an answer.Any help please.

As you can gather I am pretty vague with all this!

I can access the internet on both computer through the wirelees router.

Greg,

This symptom is seen by many folks, but there are several differing causes for
it.

Start by providing diagnostics - "browstat status" and "ipconfig /all" - for
both computers. Read this article, and all relevant linked articles, for
instructions.

try this link, it worked for me. http://www.michna.com/kb/wxnet.htm
Andrew there is good help here but have patience! It took me 2 weeks to
get 2 of my pc's (xp pro) to connect and share files and I still have
not got the xp home working. If you do a google newsgroup search with
this "MSHOME IS NOT ACCESIBLE,YOU MIGHT NOT
HAVE PERMISSION TO USE THIS NETWORK" you will see how many people are
going through this.

Good Luck,

Brian

Thanks for the help.I found the problem-Norton was blocking the access.

Another question.

How do I "share" and read emails (that are on the desktop) from the
notebook ?

Thanks

Greg
