I have set up a peer-to-peer, small office network using
XP and Win 98 machines. The Win 98 PCs see the XP PCs,
but when it tries to access them it asks for username and
password, which I did not set up. I want them to
seamlessly access each other. Also, the XP PCs cannot
even see the Win 98 PCs.
Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Jordy,

please have a look at http://www.michna.com/kb/WxNetwork.htm.
There are several points to check, like whether the network is
active on the 98 computers at all (do they ask you for username
and password?), whether you use simple or classic file sharing,
and if not, whether the users actually have accounts on the
Windows XP computers.
