networking XP and 2k

XP Home host connected thro crossover cable to Win 2k
client
Have run Networksetup on XP m/c
Created identical users on both machines to overcome
workgroup/domain problem.
Static IP's on both NIC's
xxx.xxx.xxx.1 XP
xxx.xxx.xxx.2 2K
both on same subnet mask
can ping ok from either machine
can access 2K m/c from XP m/c with no problems
always get error when tryin to connect 2K to XP
..."....is not accessable...access is denied"
both m/c's show in workgroup........
even with firewall uninstalled still no joy
....am thinking its a setting in XP blocking access...
....anyone help me out?
this is realy begining to bug ne now lol

Try to disable the network firewall settings in XP. i
had a similar problem where my pc couldn't see other PCs
servers or printers. I disabled the firewall and they
started to work.
 
did i 4get to mention all the above was done with XP's
firewall dissabled ?
