I have a new laptop with XP Home installed on it and an older comp running Win 2000 Pro. I am having troubles with the network and have found many helpful posts here already. My question is, should I upgrade one of the computers to the others OS? And would the better choice be 2000 or XP? I have not had a problem with either OS, but I am thinking the same OS would make it eaiser for file sharing and printer sharing. (my laptop is on a wireless connection)

Thanks!

Jeff

XP Home and 2000 Pro can network with each other just fine. Using the
same OS on both won't make it easier for file sharing and printer
sharing. If you'll post another news group message with a full
description of the problem, I'm sure that someone can help you solve
it.

If you really want to upgrade, your only choice would be to upgrade
2000 Pro to XP Pro.
