Hello,
I have three computers hooked up to a network. Two of them run XP Pro and
one runs on XP Home. For some reason, one of the computers running Pro can't
acess the other computers files. The other two computers have no problem
sharing files, its just the one. I tried running the network setup wizard on
that computer but when i do this, it tells me that it can't finish it. The
troubled computer can also "see" the other computers when you go into network
places and can even acess them. If I go into My Network Places on either of
the other computers and try to open the troubled computer, it gives me a
message saying "\\computername is not accesible. You might not have
permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this
server to find out if you have access permissions. The Network path was not
found."

I would really appreciate your help,
Brandon

Brandon,

Chances are you have one of several possible problems.
# Registry setting restrictanonymous.
# Misconfigured / overlooked firewall.
# Browser conflict.
# Non-activated Guest account.

Check restrictanonymous on each computer.

Look for any misconfigured or overlooked firewalls. What antivirus products do
you use?

Diagnose a browser conflict by running "browstat status" on all computers.

Make sure the Guest account is properly activated on each computer.

If no help yet, provide "browstat status" and "ipconfig /all" for each computer,
and some details about your network, here.
