2 computers, one is a windows XP machine and the other is
a windows 2000 machine.

they are both in the same workgroup and can see each other
under my network places..the problem is that when i try to
access one from the other machine (both ways) they come up
with a login window and ive tried logging in with my
normal login but nothing works.

Is there anyway to disable this or is there anyways around
it?

All I wanna do is put 400MB worth of stuff on the winXP
machine (from the win2000 machine) so I can reformat the
the win2000 machine and install XP on it, but I cant lose
these files. Also I dont have a CD burner on the win2000
machine so I cant do that.

Any solutions?

Any help is appreciated.

You need to use an account that has a password to access a share on a XP computer, so
possibly that may be the problem. You could also try enabling the guest account on
the XP computer but be SURE to disable it when done as it is a major security
risk. --- Steve
