Networking Question

Recently purchased new computer running Window's XP Home...I'm Trying to
setup a simple link between my old computer (running Win 98 ) and the new one
for file sharing ... through my ethernet cards...

Purchased a crossover cable and ran the networking wizard on both computers
with no luck so far... I'm not the most computer literate person out there,
any help would be appriciated

Create the SAME user ID and password on both machines, and be logged on to
both at once.
