I was wondering if someone could help me with a problem I seem to be having.
I'm trying to hook-up 2 computers using a cross-over cable between the two.
Now we can send files to each other but we wanted to play a game (WarCraft
2). When we go into the game and select the IPX Network option the host can
create a game, but the guest can't join the game. Someone told us that there
was a problem with our network settings. So I ask....Can someone help us out?

been awhile since I had use IPX
however if your game is set to IPX you want to make sure that your using
NWLINK IPX Netbios compatible protocol, or in non-xp/w2k terms .. netbios
over IPX

I would probably just recommend setting IP's statically within the same
subnet and making sure you have netbios over tcp/ip enabled MANUALLY
(tcpip/advanced tab/wins tab select enable netbios over tcpip) so your
friends computer is
10.10.10.10 mask 255.255.255.0 yours will be set 10.10.10.20 mask
255.255.255.0
you dont really need a gateway ip but you could set it to whatever 10.10.10.1

and just play by connecting to the other IP.

goodluck
