My newly built PC is having a networking problem.

My PC -
Motherboard Asus p4vp-mx (intergrated network card, video and sound)
Processor Celeron 2.53
HD 40 GB WD
Ram 256 MB Kingston PC3200
Network card used is as describe above, intergrated into the mother board
OS Window XP Home

My problem
Cannot connect into my office network when I removed the RJ45 jack from my
old PC to this new PC

Error message 'limited or no connectivity"

I have checked device manager and there is no conflict or non connection
Also check, Setting, Control Panel, Networking and Dialup, Showed networking
card is installed and in connection.

Can anybody help. Thanks in advance for any help.

JERRY

first make sure the card is enabled in the bios, next make sure the proper
drivers are loaded.
Finally the net connection parameters must be set correctly.

Well, you described everything except what's needed. What kind of network
is the office running, like a Domain? Workgroup? How does it assign IP
addresses and how is your computer setup to acquire network addresses and
validate itself, and the user, on the network?

"Limited or no connectivity" usually means you're not getting an IP address.

If I remeber right, you need to go into My Network Places from the
desKtop, and click on Add a Network Place. Follow the instructions
from there.
