networking password problem.

I set up a home network for our two computers.. we link together through a
hub with our cable internet... Now the problem is that whne everything is
setup well.. I can access her computer and everything on it.. But her
computer cannot reach mine.. It locks her out asking for a password.. but no
password is set on any of the shared stuff or in any of my settings..

now to further throw a wrench into things.. I have to have all my firewalls
off in order to get onto the network.. if any of them are on I am not allowed
to connect to the network, and I fail my network diagnostic check..

my norton firewall and my windows firewall don't recognize the other
computer when running the firewall (home networking) wizard.. so if I turn on
my firewalls they kill the network and any access to it by another computer..

I keep getting told that I'm going to have to manually setup a network but I
don't have the first clue on how to do that..

any help would be appreciated.. I can also use an im for more direct help if
someone would like to work me through it.. I'm just giving fair warning.. my
pc is named black death because every problem that I have encountered since
building it has been off the books on every tech support...

sorry it took so long to reply... all of a sudden my msn info got confused..
and I can't log in on my account so I had to make a new one..

anyway...

I found your page most helpful.. except at page 12 it no longer came up..

Can anyone help me out here?!? Carey has a nice page.. but it dies after page
11.. so I only got partially through the process/...

It dies at the end. That is the process.

Now I'm really confused then... because it still asks for a password to
access my computer... even after going through your walk through... :-/
thanks for trying though..

Unshare everything on the PC that is demanding the password. reboot, then
reshare one thing and see if you can access it now.
