Hello,

I have a dell laptop that works great on my Active
Directory office LAN as a member of the domain. However,
when I plug in to a different LAN using DHCP I get good
connectivity but there is a long delay (about two minutes)
everytime I try to access a file or the context menu of a
file system object. During the delay the entire shell GUI
locks up and the machine is unusable. Any help would be
appreciated. If this is the wrong newsgroup please let me
know of a better one.

Mucking with DNS suffixes seems to help a little but
doesn't fix the problem. What is causing this problem?
