hmm, an interesting one - normally i would say to use
routers at either end with either a static (public) ip,
or by using someone like dyndns.org to create a fixed
point, then set up a vpn between them, however I am not
sure whether this could be done with a dial up connection
(always used routers with broadband before) I don't think
you can set up a vpn directly from desktop with home
edition(though I could be wrong
The other solution would be to use a remote control
program eg.pcanywhere/ VNC, but again this would require
a fixed IP or dynamic ip with dyndns.org. You may also
find that you can only connect from the dial up pc if you
need to initiate the connection manually. If you wanted
to connect from the other, you would have to make sure
that the remote one had established an internet
connection first
HTH - I hope someone can come up a more elegant solution
